ACADEMICS
Academics at MI
Jesus Christ is at the center of all academics at MI. Both programs combine a diverse set of courses in biblical and theological studies, leadership, pastoral acts, care and counseling, and intercultural studies for a holistic curriculum that equips, not just educates, students for impactful ministry. Master of Divinity students have access to millions of theological resources, scholarly articles, commentaries, and language tools through MI’s online library.
Key outcomes of a theological education at MI:
Gain a deeper understanding and love of Scripture
Establish a theological foundation rooted in sound doctrine and the historical Christian faith
Learn how to effectively preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to diverse contexts
Enhance your critical thinking skills and cultivate a posture of lifelong learning
What are seminars like?
Master of Divinity–Class meets online on Thursday and Friday mornings during the academic year (September through May). Students learn from and engage with faculty who are experienced ministers and experts in their field. Courses span one, two, or three weeks long and typically include pre-course readings and written assignments.
Micro M.Div.–Cohorts participate in seminars that span one, two, or three months long. Students watch recorded lectures on their own time and meet with their academic pastor once a month to discuss content.
