We welcome Caroline Goldenstein to MI in the role of Seminary Coordinator! She will be supporting students in their learning as well as helping Staff to stay on track with processes and in planning events. Thanks to God for bringing in a team member who enjoys organizing and learning - a great fit for MI. We asked Caroline to introduce herself…
Tell us about where you grew up.... family, community, church.
I grew up in Ramsey, MN with my family, including my mom, dad, grandma, my three brothers, and my sister. I am the second oldest of the five kids. We also shared our home with numerous foster kiddos throughout my childhood. This was a significant source of joy in our household!
During my earliest years, my family attended Coon Rapids (MN) Evangelical Free church where my dad was a youth pastor. When I was in fourth grade, we began attending and became members at Northgate (Ramsey MN). I am so grateful to still call Northgate my home! My Northgate family has played an important role in my life, providing opportunities for personal and spiritual growth and walking alongside me while I learned to walk with the Lord. Their support throughout the years has been a consistent source of encouragement for me.
You recently graduated from the University of Northwestern (St Paul MN). What were your fields of study and what did you discover about yourself while pursuing them?
While at Northwestern, I studied nonprofit leadership and Biblical studies. In addition to my involvement with the School of Theology and Ministry, I also spent a lot of time with the Department of Music and Theatre as a cellist in the UNW orchestra and as a worship leader.
One of the most significant discoveries I made about myself at Northwestern was my deep love for learning, which extended to all aspects of my education. For me, learning begins with a foundation of faith and contentment as I seek to know God even more in the ways that he has revealed himself. I’ve been abundantly blessed by God throughout my educational journey, and it’s my hope that others too may experience this fulfillment and enrichment through their own journey of lifelong learning.
What is a unique hobby of yours or an experience you've had that people would be surprised to know?
I love Contemporary Christian Music and am an avid concert goer! My friends and family have even road tripped along with me to see artists like Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes, Chris Tomlin, Bethel, and Elevation. My most unforgettable experience was attending DC Talk’s reunion concert on the Atlantic ocean!
What energizes you about being the MI Seminary Coordinator?
What energizes me about being the MI Seminary Coordinator is the opportunity to contribute to the administrative functions of such a great community! I believe this role aligns perfectly with my skill set and passion for organization and administration. Beyond that, I am truly ecstatic about being part of a culture that emphasizes holistic, Spirit-led learning. I am eager to help support students as they navigate their paths of education and calling.
