LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Leadership Training at MI
The Leadership Training aspect of the Master of Divinity curriculum at MI provides an opportunity for hands-on ministry and discipleship during a fifteen hour/week internship at a local ministry setting that runs concurrent with the academic work for the student’s first three consecutive years.
The Purpose
Leadership Training at MI aims to equip students with essential leadership and ministry skills through intentional discipleship under their internship supervisor. This program requirement provides opportunities to explore the work of ministry, observe and learn from experienced leaders, and refine practical ministry skills.
The goal of Leadership Training is to develop abilities that extend beyond “ministry skills,” including casting and communicating vision, leading leaders, resolving conflict, and providing strategic oversight.
MI can help the student locate a church or ministry setting for leadership training purposes.
One-on-One Coaching
Leadership development thrives in community, not isolation. That’s why the MI model surrounds each student with a network of support as they are learning to lead Christ’s church. Students meet with their leadership coach every one to two weeks to refine their strengths, address challenges, and grow in confidence in their calling and impact.
